It’s hard to believe I’m in my tenth year as Executive Director of CCHF. Believing in our cause as I do, and working with great people along the way has made the time pass more quickly than I could have imagined. While my commitment to our mission remains the same, innovation is important to continually improve our approach for donors, partners, and our community.
This month, I’d like to share an innovation at CCHF, along with a reminder as we enter the final quarter of the year.
Monthly donations can provide many benefits for donors, from the ability to set a charitable budget and watch a gift grow over time, to the consolidation of donations into one yearly receipt, and a guaranteed taxation benefit at the end of the year. For charities like CCHF, monthly donations provide an essential ongoing source of revenue to help purchase urgently needed medical equipment as projects arise.
Our team has been working hard to make monthly giving even easier for local donors. If you visit https://ift.tt/C9FoOdR and choose the option to provide a monthly gift, you’ll be directed to a new, secure platform that makes the process more convenient. Not only does our new approach offer more ways to make payments (including VISA, Mastercard, or direct debit from a donor’s account) but it also provides more independence for donors to keep track of their donations online and download their own charitable receipts.
As part of the sign-up process, donors can create an account. By choosing this option, you can access self-service opportunities that we were unable to provide before.
Aside from monthly donations, CCHF offers many ways for donors to support our charity in a way that’s beneficial for them. Since October marks the final quarter of the year, I thought I’d share a reminder for donors who are interested in the tax benefits of providing a charitable gift of stock. Thanks to our partnership with RBC Dominion Securities, CCHF is proud to offer this service for donors wishing to give in this way. To guarantee a charitable receipt before the end of year, we recommend stock donations be processed by the first week of December. If you or someone you know is interested in this opportunity, please contact me for more information at amy.gillespie@cornwallhospital.ca
