POSSESSION FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRAFFICKING
Two Cornwall women, aged 21 and 28, have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking after members of the Cornwall Police Service Criminal Investigations Division executed a search warrant at a Montreal Road business. As a result of the investigation, it was determined the business was selling scheduled substances that are prohibited. They were released to appear in court Jan. 27.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
A 41-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested Dec. 19 and charged with:
- Three counts of assault
- Two counts of assault causing bodily harm
- Three counts of uttering threats
- Failing to comply with probation
It is alleged that between Dec. 18, 2021 and Dec. 18, 2025, the man threatened and assaulted his girlfriend and her daughter on numerous occasions. He was taken into custody, charged and held for a bail hearing.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT, MISCHIEF, WARRANT
A 38-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man from Cornwall were arrested Dec. 20 as a result of a domestic dispute. It is alleged the woman assaulted the man by punching and throwing a phone at him. It is also alleged that the man assaulted the woman and damaged the phone after it was thrown at him. The woman was charged with assault and assault with a weapon. The man was charged with assault and mischief under $5,000. They were released to appear in court Jan. 6.
SHOPLIFTING, ASSAULT
A 45-year-old woman from Alexandria was arrested December 20 and charged with assault and four counts of theft under $5,000.
It is alleged that October 26 the woman shoplifted at a business on Ninth Street. It is further alleged that November 21 the woman shoplifted at a Second Street business, where she later assaulted the store’s loss prevention officer. It is alleged the same day she shoplifted at a Boundary Road business and November 23 shoplifted at a Vincent Massey Drive business. She is to appear in court January 27.
HARASSMENT, UTTERING THREATS, MISCHIEF
A 36-year-old man of Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 20 and charged with uttering threats, mischief under $5,000, and two counts of criminal harassment. It is alleged Dec. 19, the man threatened to cause harm to an individual and operated his vehicle in a manner that interfered with the individual’s lawful use of the roadway and engaged in threatening conduct. He is to appear in court Jan. 27.
DANGEROUS AND IMPAIRED OPERATION
An 18-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested Dec. 21 and charged with impaired operation and dangerous operation of a vehicle. He was released to appear in court Jan. 13.
SHOPLIFTING, MISCHIEF
A 50-year-old woman from Cornwall was charged Dec. 19 with two counts of theft under $5,000 and mischief under $5,000. It is alleged Oct. 8 she shoplifted on two occasions at a Ninth Street business. It is also alleged Dec. 1 the woman defecated on a Pitt Street business property. She was released to appear in court Jan. 27.
SHOPLIFTING
A 63-year-old Cornwall man was charged Dec. 19 with shoplifting August 25 at a Ninth Street business. He was later released to appear in court Jan. 27.
CALLS FOR SERVICE: There were 155 calls for service in the City of Cornwall between 8 a.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Monday.
