Five food banks are sharing $79,307 in provincial funds that have been allocated by Cornwall and the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SDG) to help residents facing rising pressures related to food insecurity, housing instability, and affordability.
This one-time funding is fully provincially funded through the Housing Prevention Program that supports individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
The organizations receiving the money are
- Community Food Share which serves Winchester, Morrisburg and Williamsburg
- Agape Centre in Cornwall
- St. Vincent de Paul Society in Cornwall
- St. Vincent de Paul Society in Alexandria
- House of Lazarus in Mountain
