A 25-year-old woman suffered serious, life-threatening injuries after she was struck by a truck while attempting to cross Main Street in Alexandria April 23.
The woman was transported to Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital and then transported by Air ORNGE to the regional trauma centre in Ottawa for treatment, says the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police.
The collision occurred shortly after 3 p.m. at Main and Kenyon Streets. The woman was hit by a westbound truck that was turning left from Kenyon onto Main.
The roadway was closed to allow emergency crews to manage the scene safely. Roads have since re-opened.
The SD&G OPP continues to investigate, with the assistance of OPP Technical Collision Investigators and a Collision Reconstructionist.
