A 23-year-old man from Cornwall was charged May 27 with fraud over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, laundering proceeds of crime and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.
The charges result from a Cornwall Police Service fraud investigation that began in October of 2025. It is alleged between May 26 and Sept. 24, 2025, the man defrauded a local business of money, possessed property knowing it was obtained through the commission of an indictable offence, transferred proceeds of property in an effort to conceal or convert them while knowing or believing they were obtained through criminal activity and conspired with another individual to commit fraud.
ASSAULT
A 34-year-old woman from Cornwall was charged May 27 after she allegedly assaulted a taxi driver. The woman was later released to appear in court June 30.
BREAK AND ENTER
A 29-year-old woman from Cornwall faces a break and enter charge and three counts of failing to comply with a probation order. It is alleged that May 15 the woman broke into a residence of a person known to her. She is to appear in court June 30.
