Cornwall’s first-ever RCMP Regimental Ball dazzled guests with tradition, elegance, and community spirit, all in support of the Children’s Treatment Centre (CTC). The $250-a-plate event raised an estimated $60,000 for the CTC, which receives no government funding. The exact final tally is to be announced.
Attendees enjoyed a formal evening featuring dinner, dancing, ceremonial dress, and live music by The Chesterfields. Photo opportunities with uniformed Mounties and their horses added to the spectacle, along with a historical red serge display and traditional bagpiper processions. “It was a magical night,” said Tim Mills, the City’s CAO and honorary chair. “The room was packed, the commissioner spoke, and it all supported a vital cause.”
Staff Sgt. Frédéric Leclerc called it “a great community event,” and praised Cornwall for coming together for the CTC. While not yet confirmed, organizers say the success of the evening leaves the door open for future events.
The Children’s Treatment Centre has supported over 3,000 children and families across the region in its 29-year history.
