On September 10, Job Zone d’emploi hosted a bustling job fair at its downtown Cornwall office, drawing job seekers and local employers together for a morning of recruitment and networking.
The event, held at 144 Pitt Street, featured booths from major employers including Cornwall Police Service, Cornwall Community Hospital, Conseil scolaire de district catholique de l’Est ontarien, Mohawk Council of Akwesasne, and several private sector businesses. Attendees explored career paths, gathered information, and asked questions about job opportunities and what the positions involve.
“We’re here speaking to people about potential career opportunities with the Cornwall Police-constable, civilian, and volunteer positions,” said Sergeant Stephanie Casselman. “A lot of people didn’t realize how many different opportunities there are.”
Audrey Savard, human resources advisor with the French Catholic school board, added, “We’re looking for teachers, clerks, IT roles-our biggest challenge is finding employees who speak French.”
The job fair is part of Job Zone d’emploi’s ongoing commitment to connect local employers and job seekers.
