Local pet artist Lise Oikle has once again used her talent to make a difference, raising an impressive $10,428 for the Ontario SPCA SD&G Animal Centre through the sale of her hand-painted pet portrait calendars.
For the third consecutive year, Oikle created the calendars using portraits of client pets she painted throughout the year, selling them at multiple local businesses.
“Each year I take all the paintings of my client pets and make up a calendar,” said Oikle.
“I am so happy to represent everyone who helped. I feel like Mrs. Claus!” Ridgewood also contributed by donating three gift items to promote sales.
Winners of the gift draw were Chris Lague (coffee table), Susan Dalmer (desk), and Connie Gun (electric fireplace).
“This donation is only possible through Lise’s incredible dedication to animals and their well-being,” said Arianne Kirkey, Community Outreach Coordinator for the OSPCA SDG Animal Centre.
