There was certainly something major to celebrate at the Cornwall Community Museum when Senior Curator and Administrator became Dr. Brent Whitford after he successfully defended his dissertation and obtained a PhD in Anthropology with a specialization in Archaeology from the University at Buffalo, SUNY.
This concludes a 15 years-long post-secondary journey from a BA to an MA and now a PhD. He will continue to put his advanced degrees to good work at the museum with his training in heritage management and in the construction and interpretation of historical narratives.
Whitford’s training has also been put into action in creating ways that history and heritage can be leveraged to drive economic development, through tourism and the marketing of cultural assets.”The SD&G Historical Society salutes him on his accomplishment and is proud to say there is now a Doctor in the house.
