A 14-year-old youth from Cornwall faces several charges after allegedly crashing a stolen vehicle into a police cruiser and a school bus during a series of collisions that occurred over the course of a week.
Feb. 16, the youth fled the scene after the stolen vehicle was involved in a collision. It is alleged Feb. 23, the youth struck a CPS cruiser with the stolen vehicle; the accused again fled. The officer did not sustain any physical injuries. The same day, at approximately 9 a.m., the youth drove the vehicle into a school bus. He once again fled. The bus driver and passengers were not injured. Later the youth was located by members of the CPS Criminal Investigation Division. While being apprehended, he allegedly resisted arrest, assaulted one officer and bit another. He was charged with three counts of failure to stop after an accident, three counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, two counts of dangerous operation, assaulting a peace officer with a weapon, two counts of assaulting a peace officer and resisting a peace officer. Additionally, the youth faces two Highway Traffic Act charges for driving a motor vehicle without a licence. He was held for a bail hearing.
