The 91st Annual Service Club Council Dinner brought together Cornwall’s service organizations at the Royal Canadian Legion, celebrating collaboration and welcoming a new executive. Incoming president Marvin Plumadore said he is proud to lead the council for a fifth time, noting, “We all work together as one group to be one solid unit.” Reflecting on recent accomplishments, he added, “We’ve redone all the bylaws and set new standards… and we’ll keep working toward the goals of the community.”
Outgoing acting president Ralph Brunton thanked members for their support, saying, “It has been an honour to step in… We’re all in this to help make it a better community.” He highlighted shared successes such as the Children’s Christmas Fund, which supported 1,556 families this season, and emphasized the importance of clubs continuing to work together on major initiatives.
This year’s banquet also encouraged clubs to engage in new volunteer opportunities, including supporting blood donor clinics and assisting with monthly meal service at the Agapè Centre. These initiatives are aimed at expanding the council’s impact across the community.
