The Raisin Region Conservation Authority (RRCA) is downgrading the Flood Warning notice issued for its jurisdiction March 11 to a Water Safety Statement.
Although water levels declined over the weekend, fast flows, unstable banks, and melting or unstable ice may continue to create hazardous conditions near waterways across the RRCA jurisdiction.
Widespread river flooding is not expected at this time.
In North Glengarry, the RRCA is actively monitoring and managing lake levels at Loch Garry, Middle Lake, and Mill Pond to reduce the potential for flooding. Water levels in the Garry River, downstream of these lakes, may rise suddenly as part of necessary water level management.
This statement remains in effect until March 20.
