Local author Anna Myatt continues to share the story of her beloved dog through her children’s book I Am Jack, a family-friendly story focused on love, loyalty, and companionship. Published in 2018 by Baico Publishing, the book tells the true story of Jack from the dog’s perspective. “My book is a true story,” said Myatt. “It’s a children’s book, true story about my dog, Jack, and all the things that he does. Children are very interested in learning about what it means to have a dog.” Myatt said part of the story follows Jack’s journey to his “forever home” as a puppy. “That’s how he came to us,” she explained. According to Myatt, young readers have responded positively to the book. “When they read it, they love the book,” she said. Jack is now 14 years old. “He’s a senior dog, but he’s just as lovable,” said Myatt. She also created the illustrations herself. “I wanted it to look realistic like Jack, and when people see him, they know it’s Jack right away,” she said. The book is available exclusively through Myatt’s website and at local markets.
