A 23-year-old man from Cornwall has been charged by the Cornwall Police Service with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose after he allegedly stabbed his brother with a screwdriver June 11.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT, MISCHIEF
A 37-year-old man from Cornwall faces charges of domestic assault and three counts of mischief. It is alleged March 27, the man assaulted his spouse and damaged several items in the home, including her CCTV camera, cellphone and walls. He was released to appear in court July 7.
SHOPLIFTING, FAIL TO COMPLY
A 31-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested June 11 and charged with two counts of shoplifting and three counts of fail to comply with a probation order. It is alleged May 25, the man shoplifted at a Ninth Street West business.
June 11, CPS officers were dispatched to a Pitt Street business for a shop theft in progress. The accused was subsequently located by CPS officers after fleeing the scene.
FAIL TO COMPLY, BREAK AND ENTER
A 63-year-old man from Cornwall was charged June 12 with break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence. It is alleged the man breached a restraining order when he contacted his neighbor and attempted to break into his neighbour’s residence.
COMMUNICATE FOR PURPOSE OF OBTAINING SEXUAL SERVICES
A 52-year-old man from East York was arrested June 12 for allegedly soliciting the sexual services of a person. He was later released to appear in court July 28.
ASSAULT
A 15-year-old youth from Cornwall was charged June 12 for allegedly assaulting an individual known to her. She was released to appear in court at a later date.
FAIL TO ATTEND, FAIL TO COMPLY, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT
A 19-year-old man from Cornwall has been charged with criminal harassment and fail to comply with an undertaking. It is alleged Feb. 24, the man, who was bound by a restraining order, contacted his ex-girlfriend, April 8, harassed the woman, causing her to reasonably fear for her safety.
CRIMINAL HARASSMENT
A 39-year-old woman from Cornwall was charged with criminal harassment, being unlawfully in a dwelling house and failing to comply with a probation order. It is alleged in the early morning hours of June 10, she unlawfully entered her ex-boyfriend’s residence and harassed the man and his girlfriend by engaging in threatening conduct that caused them to reasonably fear for their safety. June 13, CPS officers responded to multiple calls for service involving the woman. The woman was charged and held for a bail hearing.
SHOPLIFTING
A 33-year-old man from Cornwall was charged June 13 with shoplifting and failing to comply with a probation order. It is alleged May 12 and again May 20, he shoplifted at a Second Street East business.
IMPAIRED, OVER 80
A 71-year-old man from Cornwall was charged June 13 charged with impaired driving after CPS officers were dispatched to the area of Second Street East for an impaired driver complaint. He is to appear in court July 7.
POSSESSING COUNTERFEIT MONEY
A 33-year-old Cornwall man was charged with possessing counterfeit money after when he failed to show up at court, was located by a CPS officer and was found to have phony currency. He is to appear in court July 16.
ASSAULT WITH UMBRELLA
A 33-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested June 14 for assault and shoplifting when she allegedly shoplifted at a Second Street East business and while being apprehended assaulted the loss prevention officer with an umbrella.
ASSAULT, THREATS
A 29-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested June 14, and charged with several offences, including assault and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
It is alleged he assaulted his mother, threatened to physically harm the woman and damaged her property.
SHOPLIFTING CHARGE, 3 YEARS LATER
A 48-year-old woman from Cornwall was charged with shoplifting at a Ninth Street business Oct. 26, 2023. June 15, the woman was located by a member of the Ontario Provincial Police Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) squad and subsequently turned over to the Cornwall Police Service. She was later released to appear in court July 20.
ASSAULT
A 57-year-old woman from Cornwall was charged with assault after she allegedly punched in the face an individual known to her. She was later released to appear in court July 28.
SHOPLIFTING
A 33-year-old Martintown man was apprehended after he allegedly shoplifted June 15 at a Ninth Street East business.
MONITOR TAMPERING
A 39-year-old man from Cornwall faces a mischief charge and five counts of fail to comply with a release order.
It is alleged May 11, the man who had been ordered to stay home tampered with a GPS monitoring device after he failed to show up at court March 25. It is alleged June 15, he broke a restraining order by contacting his girlfriend. He was later taken into custody by members of the Canada Border Services Agency and subsequently turned over to the CPS. He was also in possession of an edged weapon.
