The second annual Beyond the Bases Softball Tournament brought teams together at Optimist Park, raising funds for Beyond 21.
Organized by the Wheeler & Munro Real Estate Team, the event featured softball, music, a barbecue, and community activities in support of the Cornwall-based non-profit organization. Beyond 21 supports adults with developmental disabilities after they transition out of the school system, offering programming focused on independence, life skills, creativity, recreation, and community connections.
“We are so grateful for the Wheeler & Munro team to put this together for us for the second year,” said Executive Director Amy Malyon. “We’re happy to be here running a little barbecue and being part of the day.” Malyon said the event raised about $4,000 last year and was on track for approximately $10,000 this year, with funds supporting operations and Beyond 21’s capital campaign. “We started last year, and thought, why not bring it back this year for a great organization. We’re lucky to be involved in the community that we are,” said organizer and team Wheeler & Munro member Annie Booth.
