Shoppers were eagerly perusing the clothing displays at the newly opened Mia Moda Boutique in Alexandria, scooping up classic, casual styles. From jeans to the softest sweaters, clean-cut knit jackets and feminine blouses, this store has it all. Boutique Mia Moda even carries some styles for men.
For Marie-Josee Decoste, this is a dream come true. She admits to being a shopaholic, always keeping an eye out for quality fashions at realistic prices. In addition to being a savvy shopper, Marie-Josee has retail experience from positions at the Rideau Centre in Ottawa, as well as having worked at Glengarry’s well-loved Viau Ladies Wear.
Named after Marie-Josee Decoste’s daughter, Mia, Boutique Mia Moda’s fashions are primarily from Canada and Denmark. Marie-Josee felt that with the tariffs on U.S. products, it was better to offer inventory that wouldn’t require additional markup to balance the wholesale costs. The shop offers sizes for everyone with accessories to complete the outfit. The atmosphere was bustling on the first opening day, but the store is bright & inviting, with a focus on a comfortable, relaxed shopping experience where people can take the time they need to look through the many items without being pressured.
Boutique Mia Moda is a welcome addition to Alexandria, not only offering a sophisticated clothing shop, but also because the newly renovated building has two condominiums available, providing additional housing close to all the conveniences. The store plans to offer online shopping in 2026; however, its central location makes it right on the way while running any errands in Alexandria. Visit their website at www.boutiquemiamoda.com
