Cornwall’s own Jacob Pilon has been selected as one of just 40 young Canadians to serve as a Page in the House of Commons for the 2024-2025 term. The prestigious program recruits bilingual undergraduate students from across the country to work on Parliament Hill while completing their first year of post-secondary studies. Pages assist Members of Parliament by delivering important documents, supporting Chamber proceedings, and gaining first-hand experience with Canada’s democratic process.
Pilon, the 2024-2025 Valedictorian of École secondaire catholique La Citadelle, will begin his studies this fall in Political Science and Juris Doctor (law) at the University of Ottawa. Beyond academics, he has already made a mark in his community through service on the Boards of United Way/Centraide SDG and the Seaway Valley Theatre Company, advancing youth engagement and cultural initiatives. He remains active in Cornwall through volunteerism and local fundraisers.
“It is a true honour for me to have been selected as a Page in the House of Commons,” Pilon said. “I’m looking forward to contributing to the important work of Parliament while learning more about House procedure and our democratic institutions.”
