The 34th annual Apples & Art Studio Tour returned September 27-28, offering an expansive showcase of local creativity across Cornwall and SDG. With 46 participating studios and 11 cultural sites, the event once again invited the public to experience art where it’s created.
Among the featured artists was photographer Mark Day, exhibiting at Cline House Gallery. Day’s work includes wildlife and astrophotography printed on vivid HD metal. “It just makes it so much more vivid and three-dimensional,” he explained. “That’s why I choose the metal.”
Day took up photography three years ago after developing Parkinson’s. “It kind of wiped out my ability to play guitar… so I picked up a camera,” he said. Encouraged by his partner, a nurse named Lori, he began exploring nature through hiking and kayaking, always with a camera in tow. “Since then, I’ve been totally addicted.”
The positive feedback he receives online is encouraging. “It’s awesome. It makes me want to do it more and more, so it keeps me going.”
Visitors can still connect with Day and view his prints via social media.
New for 2025, visitors could also explore the route aboard See-Way More’s curated shuttle tour, offering a relaxing way to visit select studios, galleries, and museums across the region.
