The 2025 Eastern Counties Ride for Dad rolled through Cornwall on September 20, raising over $29,000 to fight prostate cancer. Ninety-seven motorcyclists took part in the event, which ended at the Riceville Fairgrounds with a poker run and prizes, including $1,000 cash for the top hand and a $250 Amazon gift card for the top fundraiser.
The event was co-organized by Cornwall Police Service’s Cst. Ben Flipsen, who also participated in the ride. “Being part of Ride for Dad is about more than just getting on a bike,” said Flipsen. “It’s about supporting a cause that touches so many families in our community.”
The national Ride For Dad initiative raises funds and awareness for prostate cancer through motorcycle and ATV events across Canada. This year’s Eastern Counties ride was presented by Levac Propane and supported locally by the Cornwall Police Association.
“Raising funds and awareness for prostate cancer is something I’m proud to be a part of,” added Flipsen, “and I’m grateful for the opportunity to ride alongside so many people who share that commitment.”
Cst. Booth-Reddick and members of CPS’s Auxiliary Program provided traffic control, while mascot Cst. Joy also came out to show support.
