The Cline House Gallery was abuzz with tea cups clinking, conversation, and the scent of fresh sweets on Sunday, October 5th, as guests gathered for a sold-out High Tea fundraiser. With two elegant seatings at noon and 2 p.m., the event supported Maison Baldwin House through Anna Russell’s Royal Lepage Cambodia Trek campaign.
Russell, who will soon trek 100 km through the Cambodian jungle, has raised over $28,000 to date. “Eighty percent of the funds stay local, while the remainder supports national initiatives through the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation,” she explained. Impressively, Russell also catered all the sandwiches and sweets herself.
Volunteers from Serendipity helped serve a variety of teas, including Orange Pekoe, Earl Grey, Peppermint, and Green. Attendees also supported the cause through a silent auction, gift cards and books, handmade rings, brooches, and curated holiday book sets.
Debbie Fortier, Executive Director at Maison Baldwin House, said, “Our funding from the Ministry doesn’t cover the full cost of operating the shelter, so we rely on community support from fundraisers like this.”
