The Cornwall Public Library hosted a vibrant event in recognition of Islamic Heritage Month. Organized in partnership with the Cornwall Muslim Community Hub and CIF, the afternoon brought together residents of all ages to celebrate, learn, and connect through youth-led displays, interactive discussions, and a Kids’ Corner.
The event highlighted the contributions of Muslim Canadians and provided an opportunity to share stories, traditions, and perspectives. Mayor Justin Towndale, MP Eric Duncan, and Councillor Fred Ngoundjo were in attendance, showing support for cultural awareness and inclusivity.
“This year’s national theme speaks to the generations who came before us and the work being done now to create inclusive spaces,” said organizer Osama Chaudhry. “It was more than a program, it felt like a gathering of neighbours.”
Local organizations such as the Cornwall Islamic Foundation, United MSA, and Initiative Bonnes Actions participated. Conversations focused on faith, service, wellness, and education.
