THREATS, ASSAULT, DISTURBANCE
A 53-year-old Cornwall man was charged Dec. 22, with uttering threats, assault, and causing a disturbance. It is alleged that as the man was causing a disturbance, an off-duty CPS Staff Sergeant who was present intervened. It is alleged that during the intervention, the man punched and threatened to kill the officer. The accused was released to appear in court Jan. 27.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
A 36-year-old man from Kahnawake, QC, was arrested on Dec. 22, 2025, and charged with two counts of assault and failing to comply with peace bond. It is alleged on Dec. 12 and 22 the man assaulted his wife. The investigation revealed the man was bound by a peace bond. He was held for a bail hearing.
IMPAIRED OPERATION
A 42-year-old Cornwall man was charged Dec. 23 with impaired driving when he was stopped by a member of CPS who was conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Brookdale Avenue. He is to appear in court Jan. 13.
