Cornwall SDG Paramedic Services returned to FreshCo in Cornwall for its annual “Stuff the Truck” food drive in support of the Agapè Centre. Agapè Executive Director Lisa Duprau said the drive brought in “400 pounds of food along with monetary donations.” Barbara Legget, a commander with Paramedic Services, said the initiative, in its eighth year, is a chance to connect with residents beyond emergency calls. She said some shoppers apologize that they could give in the past but can’t right now. “Over the 8 years, I’ve consistently seen a decline in what people have been able to give,” Legget said, adding that demand is “significantly higher” and “the community is running out of the ability to provide.” Legget said her favourite part is the people, including a surprise Santa visit that “put a smile on our faces.”
