The number of homes sold through the MLS System of the Cornwall and District Real Estate Board totaled 256 units in October, a drop of 6.2 per cent from October of 2024.
Home sales were 3.7 per cent above the five-year average and 0.4 per cent below the 10-year average for the month of October.
Home sales totaled 2,667 units over the first 10 months of the year, representing 15 more sales from the same period in 2024.
“Although home sales were down slightly from last October, they still marked one of the best levels for this month in history,” said board president Derek McEwen.
“New listings hit a new October record as sellers are more determined than ever to attract buyers. However, the balance between supply and demand in our region has remained remarkably stable going back to the end of 2023. Right now we’re on par with 2024 in terms of sales and prices are rising at a modest level, trends that we expect to continue to see through the end of this year.”
