A 54-year-old man from Cornwall was charged Jan. 27 with domestic assault and forcible confinement after Cornwall Police Service officers were dispatched to an intimate partner violence incident, during which the man allegedly assaulted his ex-spouse and prevented her from leaving the residence. The man was later released to appear in court Feb. 24.
Assault with a weapon
A 45-year-old Cornwall woman was charged Jan. 27 with three counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and one count of assault with a weapon after she allegedly assaulted an individual known to her with a weapon and made multiple threats to the individual and threatened a second individual, who is also known to her. She was later released to appear in court March 3.
Domestic assault, threats
A 37-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 29, 2026, and charged with two counts of domestic assault and one count of uttering threats to damage property. It is alleged between Jan. 1, 2025, and June 30, 2025, the man assaulted his spouse on multiple occasions. It is also alleged he threatened to burn down her residence. The man was later released to appear in court Feb. 24.
Break and enter, assault
A 39-year-old man from Cornwall was charged Jan. 28 charged with break and enter and assault. It is alleged Jan. 27, the man broke into the residence of an individual known to him and assaulted the individual. He is to appear in court March 10.
Assault with a weapon
A 27-year-old man from Cornwall was charged Jan. 28 with assault with a weapon and failing to comply with a probation order. It is alleged Jan. 9, the man was bound by two separate probation orders, assaulted an individual known to him with a tool.
Assault, break-in
A 19-year-old man from Cornwall was charged Jan. 28 with break and enter, assault with a weapon and failing to comply with release and sentence orders. It is alleged Jan. 27, the man broke into the residence of an individual known to him and assaulted the complainant with a tool.
Impaired charge
In the early morning hours of Jan. 26, a 19-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested after officers responded to a motor vehicle collision in the area of Tollgate Road and Brookdale Avenue. The woman was charged with impaired driving, careless driving, and driving without a licence. The Cornwall Police Service reminds everyone that it’s never worth the risk.
