The 2nd Robbie Burns Dinner and Dance fundraiser for the #2403 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps SD&G Highlanders will be held January 24 at 6 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 297, Cornwall.
After the inaugural Robbie Burns event in January of 2025, the Master of Ceremonies and #2403 Support Committee Wayne Timperley stated, “The committee felt after the success of the 2025 event, we had to host for a second year.” This event brings together the Scottish culture in celebration of the Scottish Poet Robbie Burns. Many attendees will be wearing their Scottish tartans with great pride.
The evening will start with a piper playing to advise guests to be seated. Then formal welcomes and then Address to the Haggis by Art Buckland, then followed by a three-course roast beef dinner with potatoes and nips (turnips) and carrots with a delicious cake. The music starts with the SD&G Pipes and Drum performance, and the Ceilidh continues with The Celtic Kitchen Party playing into the night.
This is an event with lots of Scottish traditions and music being offered throughout the night. The tickets sold very fast.
