The Ontario Senior Games Association (OSGA) is seeking help to run the 2026 District 8 and the 2026 Regional Games. District 8 (D8) covers Stormont, Dundas, Glengarry, Prescott, Russell counties and Akwesasne. The OSGA Summer Games will commence in early spring.
Are you interested in participating or volunteering in our none-profit organization? The Ontario Senior Games District 8 offers various opportunities to volunteer and/or participate in a variety of activities. There are many benefits in volunteering.
They include maintaining and establishing a sense of belonging, expanding social contacts, learning new skills and staying active. Volunteers experience a reduction in stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress-related illness and social isolation. Did you know that volunteering can assist one in their transition into retirement? It will contribute to your quality of life today and develop to create a long-lasting impact on your future.
Volunteering allows you to make a positive difference in the lives of others and contribute to a stronger community. The OSGA D8 has volunteers that can help you find volunteering opportunities that match your interests and skills. Volunteering is a valuable activity that can benefit both the individual and the community. By giving your time and effort, you can make a positive impact on the world and grow as a person. Volunteering is the time you give to strengthen your community and improve others’ quality of life, as well as your own.
The public is asked to consider assisting with registration, administration, event tabulations or serving as convenors and timers, etc. The association also needs more board members.
