The Editor,
Re:Duncan criticizes grocery relief bill: “Admission of failure,” Seaway News, Feb. 25, 2026;
Typical. No surprise here, groceries are up to a ridiculous point, and it’s getting out of hand. So, I gratefully read Mr. Duncan’s comments in the Seaway News. I said to myself, “Mr. Duncan must have an excellent plan.” So I read the article, which was almost four columns of criticizing the Liberal Government over food prices and a whopping six lines to the Conservative solution. No explanation on how this would lower costs either, just simply, six lines = grocery prices will begin to fall, Kind of a miracle.
Yet, not one mention of corporate greed, the record profits made by these giant grocery store chains, as they tell us they simply can’t lower food prices, they all have cottages they have to keep up ya know.
The failure of both parties is the failure to stand up to the billionaire class who are raking it in, while our youth, our working class, struggle with wages that do not cover the basics, which includes over-priced food. Time to stop the Turkey Gobble and start pointing the finger at the source, those who actually price the food out of the reach of average Canadians, forcing many to use Government assistance to simply eat, while corporations continue to price us into oblivion, while out on their jaunty yachts.
