The Spring Fling Artisan Market at Cornwall Square brought local makers and small businesses together for a weekend shopping event organized by SoapLadz Cornwall Marketplace.
Sandy Bayer, owner of The Nutty Squirrel, said she formed her home-based craft business about 15 years ago. “Mostly floral, I do wreaths, cemetery saddles…Christmas ornaments,” she said, describing her handmade décor. For spring, shoppers are seeking “nice fun spring things that are bright and flowery,” she added. Of the season itself, Bayer said her favourite part is “when everything starts coming to life.”
Connor Budz of Forever Green Plant Shop in Ingleside said his business will mark five years in June. The booth featured “an assortment of easy-care common plants for newer plant parents” along with rare varieties and soil products. “It’s been a very good day… lots of people here,” he said.
