The Great River Ontario Health Team has launched the Community Voices Collective, a new initiative aimed at gathering feedback from residents to help shape health and social services across the region.
The initiative invites people from Cornwall, SDG Counties, Akwesasne, Russell Township, and parts of rural Southeast Ottawa to share their experiences and ideas through surveys, focus groups, conversations, and community engagement events.
Participation is voluntary and designed to be flexible, allowing residents to contribute in ways that fit their schedules and interests.
“Everyone has experiences with the health and social service system, and those experiences matter,” said Carilyne Hébert, Engagement and Navigation Lead with the GR OHT. “We want to ensure that the people who use these services have opportunities to help shape how they evolve and improve in the future.”
The initiative builds on the GR OHT’s Lived Experience Partners Table, which helps guide health system priorities using community perspectives. Organizers hope to hear from a wide range of residents, including youth, seniors, caregivers, newcomers, rural residents, and members of equity-deserving communities.
