The Rotary Club of Cornwall Sunrise is encouraging residents and businesses to show their Canadian pride through a new Canada Day Sign Project launching across the region this month.
In partnership with Rotary Clubs in Brockville, the initiative offers Canada Day Pride lawn signs for $15, complete with “H”-style holders suitable for lawns, balconies, and other display spaces. Sales begin the week of May 11 ahead of the Victoria Day long weekend, with signs initially available at Marlin Orchards and Garden Centre, with additional locations to be announced.
The project was first inspired in 2025 by Brockville Rotarian Jacquie Pepper-Journal as a simple way for residents to visibly celebrate their pride in Canada. Organizers say the initiative is focused primarily on community spirit and national pride, while also serving as a modest fundraiser.
Rotary Sunshine public relations chair Bette Miller said the campaign comes at an important time for Canadians to come together publicly and visibly.
“These are hard and uncertain times that challenge us to show our strength and determination,” said Miller. “If there was ever a time to stand together as Canadians and put our pride on display, it’s now.”
Sales will continue through Canada Day. Residents interested in purchasing a sign can contact Rotarian Terry Brouillet at 613-361-9478 or payment via e-transfer at general@cornwallsunriserotary.com.
