The Focus Art Association, which currently has 64 members, held its annual general meeting at the Royal Canadian Legion, where members reflected on the past year and discussed upcoming exhibitions and workshops.
President Bob Lockhart thanked volunteers for their contributions, including those who helped organize the association’s latest exhibition. “I would like to thank the hanging crew for all the work they did for this last exhibition,” said Lockhart.
Although Focus Art did not hold a fall show after being unable to find an available venue with enough public traffic, its spring exhibition at the mall was considered a success. That event featured 95 pieces of artwork and attracted more than 1,000 visitors.
The group is planning a juried summer show from August 15 to 30, with hopes of returning to the mall.
Focus Art also announced its 2026-2027 board, with Lockhart continuing as president and John Lounsberry serving as vice president. Other board members include Patsy Primeau, Claudine Trottier, Cynthia Hum, Margaret Lockhart, Jonathan Poirier, and Jane Macmillan.
The association will begin holding meetings at the Charles-Émile-Claude Centre on Chevrier Avenue, starting in September.
