A $20,000 donation was presented to the Children’s Treatment Centre (CTC) at the Brookdale Avenue McDonald’s in Cornwall, with restaurant owner Kyle Drake presenting the cheque alongside Sean Adams, a longtime CTC supporter and fundraiser.
The donation was raised through community fundraising efforts, including McHappy Day, guest donations, staff support, and contributions from the business itself.
“We’re super excited to be able to support this charity that’s so close to so many hearts in the community,” said Drake, owner of the three Cornwall McDonald’s franchises and the Lancaster location. “My team gets behind the Children’s Treatment Centre. They get excited for raising money and funds, and it just feels really good that we can offer support to a charity that doesn’t get funding from the government.”
Adams praised the partnership between the CTC and local businesses like McDonald’s. “When Kyle took over the franchises here in Cornwall, he sought us out,” Adams said. “He said, ‘I want the Children’s Treatment Centre to be my charity of choice.’ Since he arrived, he’s been most generous.”
