The Cornwall Colts wrapped up their 2025 preseason with a 4-1 road loss to the Rockland Nationals on Sunday night, finishing with a 2-3 record.
Cornwall’s lone goal came early in the first period, when Ryan Racine buried a feed from Timothy Walker to briefly tie the game 1-1. Despite being outshot 42-28, the Colts kept it close until Rockland added two third-period goals-including an empty-netter-to secure the win.
The Colts had previously split a home-and-home against the Brockville Braves. On Thursday, Cornwall dominated with a 6-1 win, powered by a pair of goals from Adam Walker and strong showings from Luc Beliveau and Brandon Rockwell, who each notched three points.
The following night, Brockville rebounded with an 8-4 win on home ice, scoring three powerplay goals in a high-penalty contest.
Cornwall now turns its focus to the regular season, which begins Thursday, September 18, at 7:30 p.m. at the Benson Centre (Arena 1) against the Carleton Place Canadians.
