In Canada, September is recognized as Hunger Action Month, which aims to raise awareness about food insecurity and encourage community involvement in combating hunger. Various organizations and food banks participate by hosting events, food drives and fundraising activities. The month serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges of food insecurity and the importance of collective action to ensure everyone has access to nutritious food.
To acknowledge Hunger Action Month, the Agape Centre’s One Bag Challenge has launched for the month of September. This social media campaign is a successful food drive each year to stock the shelves of our food bank and community kitchen. Participants purchase one bag of non-perishable items, post a selfie to Facebook and challenge five friends to do the same. This year we are proud to have Team Duval of ReMax Affiliates Marquis taking the lead on this annual event. Join the challenge today and help feed your community!
