VIA Rail trains will not stop in Cornwall and other Eastern Ontario communities as of September 29 while it starts non-stop service between Montréal and Toronto.
VIA Rail trains 60, 61, 68 and 69 will not stop in Cornwall, Brockville, Kingston and Belleville as they travel from Montréal to Toronto.
A group of Eastern Ontario MPs will meet soon to make sure VIA executives don’t permanently cut service at stations like Cornwall’s in favour of bigger cities, says Stormont-Dundas-Glengarry MP Eric Duncan. “Cornwall and SD&G deserve better VIA service, not less,” he says.
