Comité 73 of École secondaire catholique La Citadelle has received official support from the Association canadienne-française de l’Ontario – Stormont, Dundas et Glengarry (ACFO SDG). The endorsement, announced October 2, adds momentum to the student-led campaign for a modern new school building for francophone students in Cornwall.
Founded in April 2025, Comité 73 is advocating for equitable access to 21st-century school facilities that reflect the needs of today’s learners. The support from ACFO SDG, a regional voice for Ontario’s francophone community, highlights the broader significance of the issue.
“We salute the commitment and leadership of these youth who express their desire for a francophone school project that meets the needs of today and tomorrow,” stated ACFO SDG in its message of support.
“This support from ACFO SDG demonstrates the importance of our cause for the entire regional francophone community,” said Comité 73 president and spokesperson Austin Nelson.
“This is not only about infrastructure, it’s about justice and fairness for francophone youth.”
