The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service gathered family, friends, and community members for its Annual Award Ceremony at the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort. The evening recognized officers and staff whose service and leadership reflect AMPS values of integrity, dedication, and compassion.
Constable Aaron Simpson received the Bravery Award. Sergeant Phil Swamp was named Supervisor of the Year. The Community Service Award went to Constable Norman King Sr., while Constable Nathan Boots earned Road Safety Officer of the Year. Behind-the-Scenes Hero recognized Network Analyst and Technical Support specialist Chris Nalepa, and Dispatcher of the Year went to Lori White.
AMPS also honoured its retirees for years of service and lasting contributions. Retired members Kevin Nanticoke, Peter Francis, Bill LaFrance, and James Sunday attended, and retiree Roger Mitchell added a special touch as the evening’s DJ. Police Commission members Steve Thomas and Johanne Jackson joined the celebration in support of policing and public safety.
