Families found a touch of North Pole magic at the Cornwall Public Library, thanks to three Saturday visits from Mrs. Claus. On December 6, 13, and 20, youngsters gathered as Mrs. Claus settled into a rocking chair for holiday story time. “Mrs. Claus came in, and the first thing we did was go to our Christmas book collection and pick out three books for her to read,” said Community Engagement Coordinator Frank Burelle. Crowds typically drew 15-20 children and caregivers, and on December 6, Mrs. Claus read five books. Her Santa-themed running shoes were a hit, and after story time, she led a question-and-answer session about life at the North Pole. “Mrs. Claus enjoyed the event, especially the interactions with the children,” Burelle added. The program was offered in partnership with the Cornwall Downtown BIA, and the library also welcomed surprise visits from Elsa and Anna from Frozen.
