St. Joseph’s Catholic Secondary School and Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School turned friendly football rivalry into shared success at this year’s Charity Bowl, which ended in an unprecedented tie. For the first time in the event’s history, neither the Panthers nor the Falcons came out ahead, underscoring the message that the real win is community support.
The annual game focuses on “students supporting students,” with this year’s proceeds of $3,790 going to the Boys and Girls Club of Cornwall. “We’re inspired to see youth lifting up youth. The Charity Bowl is community spirit at its best. These funds will strengthen our educational and leadership programs,” said Executive Director Jacquie Richards. “It’s important to us that the proceeds from the Charity Bowl go to a local organization, and also an organization that supports young people – preferably teens. Boys and Girls club does great things, and our students benefit directly from their programs. We’re so proud to be able to give back,” said Alanna Pollard, a Holy Trinity teacher and team manager.
