The Township of South Stormont is advising all people connected to the Newington Municipal Drinking Water System to boil their tap water before drinking it, after a loss of water pressure in the drinking water system serving the area. The boil water advisory is in effect until further notice. The advisory does not impact residents whose water comes from wells.

Please take the following precautions:
Boil water used for drinking purposes, for at least 1 minute at a rolling boil, prior to use;
Boil water for activities where it may be ingested;
Do not drink from any public drinking fountains in the affected area;
People may use the water for washing and bathing;
Ensure that younger children and infants are sponge bathed.
