The Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario (CDSBEO) has once again been recognized as one of Forbes’ Canada’s Best Employers for 2026, marking its second consecutive year earning this distinction. The list is compiled from surveys of more than 40,000 Canadian employees working at organizations with at least 500 staff. Personal evaluations play a significant role, ensuring the rankings reflect real employee satisfaction.
“Being named one of Canada’s top employers by Forbes is a tremendous honour,” said Board Chair Chris Cummings. “This recognition speaks to the commitment of our incredible staff and the leadership that inspires a supportive, faith-based workplace.”
“The dedication and commitment of our employees at every level make me incredibly proud. Together, we create learning communities where excellence, care, and purpose truly set us apart,” Vice Chair Karen Torrie-Racine added.
Director of Education Shelley Montgomery noted, “Being named one of Forbes’ best employers for the second year in a row shows that we’re listening to our staff.”
“As a principal with CDSBEO for the past 16 years, this recognition demonstrates a commitment to staff wellbeing that we strive to instill within our Panther family. Supporting one another, collaborating, and sharing best practices in an inclusive, positive environment ensures that our staff feel valued, supported, and empowered to continue to create the best possible learning environment for our students,” said St. Joseph’s Catholic Secondary School prinicapl Joy Martel.
The CDSBEO oversees several schools in Cornwall, including Bishop Macdonell, Sacred Heart, Holy Trinity, and St. Joseph’s, as well as schools in Williamstown, Alexandria, and Chesterville.
