The Kinsmen Club of Cornwall will host three free fun events to celebrate Family Day February 16.
During the club’s “2026 Family Day of Kindness,” breakfast at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 297, at 415 Second St. West, will be served from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Skating at Ed Lumley Arena, 100 Water St. East, will run from 10 a.m. to 11:55 a.m. Swimming at the Kinsmen Pool, Aquatic Centre, 100 Water St. East, is offered from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
With many families struggling in our community the event is a perfect way to have fun and not have to worry about finding the money to pay for it, the club notes.
“When you see the kids eating, then skating, then swimming with their parents it’s so great that families get to spend the day together,” says Kinsmen President Matt LeDrew. “Hosting our own and helping other local events is just another example how Kinsmen is adding to the fun and enjoyment of the Cornwall community on this special day.”
The club expects over 600 people to take part in the activities. “Kinsmen have always supported community events and hosting this event will put many smiles on many people. We are also proud of our continued partners in the community who help us including Tim Hortons, Stormont Dairy Committee, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 297 and Agape Centre and Olymel.”
