The Cornwall Kinsmen Club will be investing $11,250 in bursaries to support 21 students in ten local high schools, a student in the Business Program of St. Lawrence College and will make a contribution to the national HAL Rogers Endowment fund.
The club has a long tradition of supporting local students attending post-secondary education through the bursaries provided to ten local secondary schools each year in memory of founding president Cliff Beach.
High schools will each receive $1,000 in order to award two $500 bursaries each.These schools are Cornwall Collegiate & Vocational School, École secondaire La Citadelle, École secondaire publique l’Héritage, Glengarry District High School, Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School, St. Lawrence Secondary School, St. Joseph Catholic Secondary School, St. Matthews Catholic High School, TR Leger and Tagwi Secondary School. An additional a bursary of $750 will be offered to a business student at St. Lawrence College Cornwall Campus. And finally, the local Kinsmen Club makes an annual contribution of $ 500 to the national HAL Rogers Endowment Fund. Local schools are provided the application form to assist their students in applying for bursaries from Kin Canada. Several local students have received these $1,000 bursaries from Kin Canada in the past.
