The Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged three individuals in relation to recovered stolen vehicles February 4 in South Glengarry.
At approximately 11:15 a.m., officers received information from a vehicle tracking system regarding a stolen Honda CR‑V travelling eastbound on Highway 401 near Ingleside. While responding, officers also observed a second stolen Honda CR‑V in the same area.
One of the vehicles entered a private commercial lot, on County Road 2, where officers arrested the driver. During the arrest, the suspect vehicle made minor contact with a police vehicle and officers successfully arrested the occupant.
The second stolen vehicle was located a short time later at the end of a dead‑end road. Officers boxed in the vehicle and arrested the occupants.
Both vehicles were later confirmed to have been stolen from the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
A 17‑year‑old male from Ajax is charged with:
- Trafficking in stolen goods over $5,000,
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Possession of break‑in instruments,
- Flight from police
- Theft of a motor vehicle.
Jayden Cann, 19-year-old of Barrie, faces similar charges, including:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Dangerous driving
- Resisting arrest
- Trafficking in stolen goods
- Theft of a motor vehicle.
Deon Arthur Bowen Aiello, 20-year-old of Richmond Hill, is charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Possession of break‑in instruments
- Resisting a peace officer
- Trafficking in stolen goods
- Motor vehicle theft
The name of young person cannot be released under the terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
All three were held in custody and are scheduled to appear in Cornwall court at a later date.
