A 43-year-old Cornwall man was arrested by Cornwall Police Service officers Feb. 2 and charged with domestic assault and failing to comply with a probation order and release order after police responded to an intimate partner violence complaint. It is alleged the man assaulted his girlfriend while breaching two separate probation orders.
16-year-old charged
A 16-year-old youth from Cornwall faces several charges in connection with two incidents. He was charged Jan. 30 with domestic assault, sexual assault and mischief after he allegedly sexually assaulted his girlfriend, physically assaulted her, and damaged her property October 22.
Oct. 28, members of the Cornwall Police Service responded to a complaint about threats being made. The youth was found to be in possession of an edged weapon and made threats to individuals known to him. He was charged with three counts of possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and failure to comply with a sentence order.
Assault peace officer charge
A 17-year-old youth from Cornwall was charged Jan. 30 with assaulting and resisting a peace officer and failure to comply with a sentence order when he allegedly disobeyed his curfew twice and he resisted arrest and assaulted police.
Impaired charges
A 38-year-old man from Cornwall was charged with impaired driving Jan. 30 during a traffic stop in the area of Marlborough Street. Feb. 1 a 23-year-old woman from Cornwall was charged with impaired driving after being stopped Thirteenth Street West. Both are to appear in court Feb. 24.
Shoplifting
A 50-year-old woman from Cornwall was charged Jan. 31 with shoplifting after she allegedly stole merchandise from a Brookdale Avenue business The woman was released to appear in court on March 10.
