Sunday May 3, 1998, my Hometown published a “streeter” about 28 SD&G Glengarry area people’s response to my question, “20 years from now, where do you expect to be and what do you think you will be doing?” his sampling of responses was taken from Bainsville, Creg Quay, Fassifern and students attending Glengarry District High School. Those of you who are reading this text now might include some of those people. Hopefully, some of you recognize their names. I’m asking you, whoever you are, to contact me at nuthilltoo@gmail.com, and give me an update.
I’m particularly interested in those six students, Tammy MacSweyn, Andrew Bowen, Tamany Booth, Tim Van Overbeek, Erin MacDonell and Joe Sugden. Did they become teachers, engineering technologists, in the music industry, somewhere else in sports administration, in medicine or a police chief or CEO of a corporation, perhaps somewhere in Europe? They certainly had “Fields of Dreams”!
Frank Gropler of Creg Quay, a Piper pilot friend, was right on. His prediction was, “I expect to be flying above the clouds, in the CAVU airway above the clouds, in my favourite airplane, the Piper PA-16S Super Clipper I’ve had for 30 years.”
Any follow-up from any of these folks, or those who can tell me about them, will eventually be shared with you in a future Dances With Words.
By the way, 20 years from now, where do you expect to be and what do you think you’ll be doing?
