A 27-year-old man from Coquitlam, BC, was arrested by the Cornwall Police Service March 27 and charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and mischief under $5,000. In the early morning hours, CPS officers responded to a dropped 9-1-1 call and found that the man had allegedly threatened to kill his girlfriend and damaged her property. The man was held for a bail hearing.
Obstruction charge
A 19-year-old man from Cornwall was charged March 28 when, as CPS officers were responding to a family dispute, he allegedly resisted arrest while being detained. He was later released to appear in court April 21.
106 in a 50 zone
A 47-year-old man from Cornwall was charged March 29 refusal to comply with a demand. When a CPS officer conducting traffic enforcement on Brookdale Avenue observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed the driver was arrested for stunt driving after allegedly travelling at 106 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone. Further investigation revealed the man was allegedly operating his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. While police were conducting an impaired operation investigation, he allegedly refused to comply with the demand to complete a standardized field sobriety test. He was later released to appear in court April 21.
