The public can have its say on the future of Cornwall Transit when the city holds a series of open houses as part of the ongoing review of the service.
Open houses are April 22, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Cornwall Public Library, 45 Second St. E., and from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at St. Lawrence College; April 23 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Benson Centre, 800 Seventh St. W.; April 24 from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Cornwall Square, 1 Water St. E.
“We want to ensure Cornwall Transit meets the needs of our community, both now and in the years ahead,” said Jean Marcil, Manager of Transit. “Community participation is vital to shaping a service that works for everyone.”
The Transit Master Plan aims to assess the performance and function of the current transit service, determine the transit needs of the City and its residents, and recommend a strategic Master Plan for the next five years. This will include a detailed operations and implementation plan, as well as a further five-year forecast, providing guidance for the next decade. The review will also examine the potential introduction of Sunday service.
