Beyond 21 is inviting the community to take part in one of its most popular and entertaining fundraising events, the Jail & Bail Fundraiser, returning April 29. To nominate a jailbird or learn more, visit: https://ift.tt/8Of7Pxl
Jail & Bail is a fun, lighthearted event where local community members are “arrested” on humorous, made-up charges and challenged to raise bail in support of a meaningful cause. Participants, known as “jailbirds,” are nominated by friends, family, or colleagues and must fundraise to secure their release.
Leading up to the event, each jailbird receives a personalized fundraising page and is encouraged to collect donations from their network. On event day, participants take part in a scheduled mock arrest, either in person within the City of Cornwall or virtually for those outside the area. This year the goal is to raise $20,000 and all funds will directly support Beyond 21, a local nonprofit dedicated to helping adults with developmental disabilities build independence, develop life skills, and stay connected to their community. Community members are encouraged to nominate someone who would be a good sport, whether it’s a boss, coworker, friend, or local personality willing to take part in this playful challenge.
